So yesterday we went to the Ontario Corn Maze. It's really nicely set up and maintained, and the idea is great. But with a four-month-old and a two-year-old, we had to opt for the shortest tour. And, of course, Nicholas immediately fastened his affections on the most mundane and familiar thing there -- the sandbox by the entrance -- and showed no interest whatsoever in the maze itself.

It's typical, really: when we took him to Wings of Paradise, he didn't even notice the butterflies, he was too excited over the little fountain in the lobby. "Water! Water!" When we visited the Children's Museum, he was indifferent to the exhibits (even their mega-cool spaceship) but wanted to spend the whole time going down the slide. And when we took him to the Pineridge Zoo, he virtually ignored the animals but was beguiled by the (rather loud and obnoxious) pair of eleven-year-old boys just ahead of us.

Oh, well. At least he's easily entertained.
