Nomad - Ivy

So there it is, and there we are...

Well, lizbee, Melanie a.k.a. DrummerGirl, and anyone else I've forgotten who attempted without success to persuade me of the virtues (or at least the plausibility) of a certain ship over the years... I repent in sackcloth and ashes.

And now that I have impressed you all with my maturity, I shall wander off and work some more on my fic.
Nomad - Ivy

*sound of head hitting desk in sheer exhaustion*

I have spent most of the morning and afternoon cleaning up various messes left around the house by my boys running in and out as they "helped" Daddy build the shed in the backyard and/or played in the sprinkler and got themselves thoroughly soaked and muddy.

Since my father-in-law has been here all day as well, helping hubby with the construction of the aforementioned shed, I put together two meals rather more fussy than I would usually make on a Saturday. Tonight's dinner, for instance, consisted of Apricot Chicken, rice pilaf with cheese, and buttered peas, with a freshly made Peach Pound Cake for dessert -- ideas pilfered from a hasty skim through my back issues of Taste of Home magazine.

Anyway, much to my relief it all turned out fine, and even (if I dare say so myself) rather delicious -- though since I was serving it to, y'know, men, they basically just wolfed it down with a muffled "thx" and headed back out the door.

So now I have piles of laundry and a mess in the kitchen still needing to be cleaned up, two grubby boys to be bathed and put to bed, and this rotten midsummer cold I seem to have picked up from my husband is just getting worse, not better. Ech.

But apart from that, it's been a pretty good day. :)
