A Pocket Full of Murder

(Book of) Brilliant Things

I can't believe I forgot to gloat over mention this before, but --

Thanks to lrk_mutterings's kindness I have read the new Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes novel, Locked Rooms and you haven't, ha ha ha.

It's really excellent -- not to mention ground-breaking, as King has taken some definite departures from the series norm in terms of the narrative structure, but in the context of the story it makes perfect sense. I can see lots of good meaty RUSS-L discussions coming out of this one...

Also, Laurie, like, totally writes RPF*. Hee!

Why did no one tell me that NaNoEdMo was this month? And now I just found out and it's too late for me to sign up! Drat, I could have used the kick-start.

Am lame excuse-making dilettante, never mind me. Sigh.

On happier note, water is back to normal. It went from a TOUCH NOT THE WATER LEST YE DIE warning on the first day to a BOIL YOUR DRINKING WATER OR ELSE warning two days ago to a GEE I GUESS WE WERE BEING A BIT OVER-CAUTIOUS, NEVER MIND announcement last night. Whatever. I'm just glad it's over, and nobody got hurt/sick on account of the chemical spill (which turned out to be detergents and wax from a local car wash).
