The ever-thoughtful folks at Chapters Indigo Booksellers have just sent me a colourful online coupon offering me $5 off my next purchase of $20 or more from their extensive collection...

...of Mary-Kate and Ashley merchandise.

Say what? Have I ever once given these people any indication that I am interested in anything to do with the Olsen twins, or am ever likely to be?

The only possible explanation I can think of is that I pre-ordered Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix from them last week, and this has led them to conclude that I must be under the age of 16. And wholly incapable of rational thought.

On a happier and certainly a more interesting note, you'd be amazed how easy it is to blend traditional Scottish and traditional Indian instruments. I just heard this duo on CBC Radio One this morning and actually quite enjoyed the bagpipe - tabla combination. But then, I'm one of those weird people who likes the sound of bagpipes (in moderation, anyway).
